Robin Tracy, CMHC

LGBTQ+ Therapy 101

Robin Tracy, CMHC  3-hour workshop

This 3-hour workshop is designed to build clinicians’ competency in providing services to the LGBTQ+ population.  We will cover terminology, resources, and what to expect in therapy with this population.  Participants will be given ample opportunity to ask questions.

Learning Objectives:

1. Attendees will learn current terminology relevant to this population, including a printed list of terms and definitions.

2. Attendees will learn common reasons LGBTQ+ clients may seek therapy and how to apply clinical knowledge to this population’s unique needs.

3. Attendees will gain resources (local, national, online) for increasing their knowledge beyond the scope of this workshop and for use with clients.

Robin Tracy, CMHC, is a founding member and Executive Coordinator of the LGBTQ Affirmative Therapists Guild. As a therapist, she specializes in helping members of the LGBTQ+ community, teens, and people who have suffered trauma, using a Feminist Multicultural framework.
