Workshop objectives

Participants will be able to:

  1. Distinguish between different helper animal types/roles.
  2. Apply best practices for recommending and prescribing ESAs.
  3. Understand current legal, ethical, and social issues surrounding helper

Presenter:

Jade Letourneau, PhD, LCMHC (UT & NH), LCPC (ME)

Dr. Jade Letourneau

is an affiliate faculty in Rocky Mountain

University's Counseling Department. She is a clinical mental health counselor, counselor

educator, and qualitative researcher.

Her clinical experience comprises a broad range of clients in myriad settings, including corrections, private practice, training clinics, and a college career center. Her research interests include human-animal bonds in counseling, spiritual and religious issues in counseling, counselor education pedagogy, and all things qualitative research.


Utah Mental Health Counselors Association is Utah's hub for enhancing the profession of mental health counselors.
