Presenters
Matthew Buckley, EdD, LPC-S (MS), LCMHC (UT)
Dr. Matt Buckley is a doctoral-level licensed professional counselor in Mississippi and a licensed clinical mental health counselor in Utah. He earned both his master’s and doctoral degrees in community school counseling.
He has been a practicing counselor since 1993 across Idaho, Mississippi, and Utah. His areas of specialization include:
- Marriage and family counseling
- Child and adolescent counseling
- Group counseling
He holds national certifications as:
- National Certified Counselor (NCC)
- Approved Clinical Supervisor (ACS)
- Board Certified Telemental Health Counselor
Dr. Buckley serves as a professor of counseling at Rocky Mountain University of Health Professions. He is also a board-approved clinical supervisor in Mississippi, providing supervision for both licensed counselors and those seeking licensure. His professional work spans counseling, consultation, supervision, and teaching.
Richard Strebeck, PhD, EdS, LPC-S (MS), NCC
Dr. Richard Strebeck serves as Chair and Professor of Counselor Education at William Carey University on the Mississippi Gulf Coast. He trains graduate students in clinical mental health counseling.
He is a current member of the Mississippi State Board of Examiners for Licensed Professional Counselors, bringing regulatory insight into his teaching and advocacy.
He also serves as President-Elect of the American Association of State Counseling Boards, where he focuses on strengthening collaboration across state licensure boards.
In addition to his academic and leadership roles, he maintains a part-time private practice to stay connected to real-world clinical work.
