Presenter:
Dr. Tiffany Nielson, PhD, LPC (ID, IL), NCC

Dr. Tiffany Nielson holds a master's degree in Marital, Couple, and Family Counseling and a PhD in Counselor Education and Counseling from Idaho State University. She has served as a counselor educator for more than 10 years, previously at the University of Illinois Springfield and currently as Associate Professor and Interim Program Director at Rocky Mountain University. Dr. Nielson also provides individual and couples counseling through The Counseling Center at Tree City via telehealth. Her clinical experience includes working with children, couples, families, and adults experiencing concerns such as divorce and separation, trauma, depression, ADHD, anxiety, and supporting child survivors of sexual abuse and their families.

Workshop Description:
Counselors regularly encounter significant emotional demands that can contribute to burnout and compassion fatigue. This workshop explores intentional practices that promote professional wellness and resilience. Participants will learn to recognize the signs of counselor burnout and identify practical strategies to sustain well-being throughout their careers.

Learning Objectives:
By the end of this workshop, participants will be able to:

  • Identify signs and symptoms of counselor burnout.
  • Learn individual and organizational strategies to enhance resilience and professional well-being.
  • Apply techniques to their own professional practices to reduce burnout.
