We want to honor you at our next conference. We are accepting nominations for the awards below. All nominees must be active members of the Utah Mental Health Counselors Association.

Awardees will be honored at the UMHCA Spring Conference, May 14-15, 2026.

Nominations will close on March 15, 2026.

      • Educator of the Year: This award recognizes an outstanding counselor educator who demonstrates excellence in teaching, mentorship, and leadership. The recipient is dedicated to preparing and inspiring future mental health counselors through effective instruction, professional service, and a strong commitment to ethical and inclusive mental health counseling and practices.
      • Student of the Year: This award recognizes a current graduate student in a mental health counseling program who demonstrates academic excellence, professional growth, ethical practice, and a strong commitment to supporting the mental health and well-being of others.
      • Counselor of the Year: This award recognizes an outstanding licensed mental health counselor (associate or fully licensed) in Utah who demonstrates excellence in clinical practice, ethical standards, and a strong commitment to promoting the well-being and mental health of individuals and communities.
      • Julie Ann Tucker Award – Excellence in Advocacy: This award recognizes a licensed mental health counselor who demonstrates outstanding advocacy efforts to promote access, awareness, and equity in mental health services at the local and/or state level, and who works to support and empower individuals and communities.



Utah Mental Health Counselors Association is Utah's hub for enhancing the profession of mental health counselors. 
UMHCA is a 501(c)6 organization.
