Justice, Equity, Diveristy, & Inclusion Committee Meeting Minutes
Members Present: Mai B., Alexis B., Jasmine M., Bobbi D., Jim M., Juancarlos S.
DISCUSSION: 

The JEDI Committee meeting covered feedback from Bobbi Deal's presentation on historical trauma, which received a 4.6/5 rating. The committee discussed the success of the fall conference and plans for the spring conference, including four slots for educational sessions and potential processing groups. They also approved a $2,000 budget for a self-care social and considered a collaborative art project and sound bath for the event. Juancarlos Santisteban proposed a brown bag session on empowering Latinx providers for January 15. The committee also reviewed the need for a public resource list.

Juancarlos to reach out to Adriana to confirm their availability to present on culturally responsive supervision at the spring conference. (Tentative Schedule for JED&I Track for Spring Conference: 3 Processing group for marginalized clinicians, 1 training)

Committee to start planning the self-care social event for the spring. (5:30 pm to 7 pm on May 14th, Sound bath 30 min, Collaborative art project 1 hr)

Next Board Meeting, JED&I will submit final proposals for Mentorhip program and Consultation group. 

Committee to coordinate and compile the community resource list, will ask about Francesca taking the lead as the community outreach coordinator.

Juancarlos is leading the coordination of another Brown Bag, scheduled for Jan. 15, 2026. Will coordinate with EACC.

Utah Mental Health Counselors Association is Utah's hub for enhancing the profession of mental health counselors.
