Justice, Equity, Diveristy, & Inclusion Committee Meeting Minutes

Members Present: Tage G., Juancarlos S., Francesca S., Bobbi D., Alexis B., Jim M., Mai B.,

DISCUSSION:

The JED&I meeting discussed the approval of two initiatives and the need for a mentoring program. Juancarlos Santisteban will co-facilitate a workshop on healing spaces with Jasmine in December. The mentoring program will start with a mentor mixer to connect mentors and mentees, avoiding formal matchmaking. Tage Gould's committee (GSEP) will lead the program, focusing on creating a space for organic connections. A mentor website will be developed to profile mentors, allowing mentees to choose based on shared identities. The committee also plans to create a community resources Google Sheet for clinicians working with marginalized groups.

Utah Mental Health Counselors Association is Utah's hub for enhancing the profession of mental health counselors.
