2017 SASH Annual Conference

The Society for the Advancement of Sexual Health (SASH) is hosting its 2017 Annual Conference “Sexual Health in a Digital World”, in Salt Lake City, Utah at the beautiful Downtown Marriott Hotel on October 5-7, 2017. SASH expects physicians, psychologists, therapists, counselors, and recovering individuals and partners in attendance to learn the latest research, training and information for problematic sexual behavior, sexual health and wellness.

This year’s SASH conference will focus on how the internet, technology, and other digital arenas have influenced, enhanced, or detracted sexual health. Problematic sexual behavior has only come to be acknowledged with professionals and the recovery community over the past 35 years. The rapid growth of technologies on the web, social media, software and phone apps – such as “Ashley Madison”, have created an exponential increase in the number of individuals affected. Sex negative dialogue continues to remain a norm, creating large cultural challenges and disconnection in our communities. Stigmas remain and often result in misdiagnosis, inappropriate or ineffective care. Instead, adequate and effective treatment modalities do not exist to properly address these issues, and realize sexual health, healing, and wellness. Those in recovery are invited to attend.
