Shifting the Paradigm, A Revolutionary Framework for Effective Treatment Outcomes

By Dr. Gray Otis, PhD

This workshop offers an emerging, evidence-based treatment approach based on client self-beliefs. Clients believe they are worthless, stupid, unworthy of love and a multitude of other negative core beliefs. These injurious and false beliefs permeate their interpretation of life experiences, lead to destruc-tive coping mechanisms, and create DSM-5 symptoms. Counselors can learn how to apply new CBT skills to ensure lasting, measurable results that effec-tively treats the root causes of mental disorders

  • To highlight a new counseling paradigm for treating trauma, anxiety, de-pression, substance addiction, and other disorders that achieves measur-able outcomes through achieving shifts in clients’ self-beliefs
  • To present a discussion on how to work with clients in transforming their injurious self-beliefs which negatively permeate their experiences and create the root causation of most DSM-5 disorders
  • To discuss how a new conceptual framework of treatment can radically change how mental disorders are understood as well as how they can be effectively and measurably treated by individual counselors.
