The Basics of Therapeutic Conversations with Children: How to work with children when you're not a child therapist

I'd like to invite you to my upcoming one-day interactive workshop. We’ll discuss how to navigate therapeutic conversations and interactions with children, even if you do not specialize in child therapy

If you’ve ever wondered what was age-appropriate for a child’s understanding or how to get them to engage during a session, you’re not alone. Many therapists have struggled to engage their younger clients in a conversation.

In this online, interactive workshop you’ll have hands-on training in conversational and play strategies to use with children. You will leave with a clear understanding of how to co-create effective goals with children and strategies to help them move toward their goals.

By the end of the event, you’ll have:

  • Solution-focused basics for working with children
  • Communication skills that work with children
  • Key childhood development factors to understand your clients
  • Simple, therapeutic play activities to use during sessions
  • Strategies to engage parents

Pamela King, LMFT, is an enthusiastic and experienced solution focused practitioner, international speaker, author, and trainer.

Pricing

I understand it’s a challenging time for many of us and I want to make sure therapists have access to this information, so I added the financial circumstances category for international attendees, furloughed workers, and other circumstances. If that's you, please take advantage of it.
