Establishing Connections with Teenage Depression


Scott Carter is a licensed clinical mental health counselor who has more than twenty years experience in mental health and working directly with adolescents. He specializes in teen therapy as well as family and parenting work. He has worked with teens at every level of care, has developed and taught parenting classes. He currently works in private practice in Sandy UT. 
The objectives for the presentation are:
  • How to better help teens engage in therapy and to benefit from it
  • Effective elements for teen therapy
  • Addressing and mitigating the most common barriers that prevent them from getting benefit from treatment
  • Teen depression and the lack of positive connections
  • Simple and effective interventions to establish connections
