Navigating the Legislative Session for Mental Health Professionals

I wanted to share the details about an upcoming presentation from the ACLU regarding mental health advocacy in the upcoming legislative session. This will be held on Zoom on Tuesday, January 10 from 12 to 1:00 PM. Anyone is welcome to join so feel free to share the link with other professionals.

Navigating the Legislative Session for Mental Health Professionals
Meeting Description:  

The ACLU of Utah offered to host a one-hour presentation during our normal Mental Health Collaborative Meeting specifically for mental health professionals. We will discuss the following:

• Harmful bills being proposed in the upcoming legislative session in Utah. (Session starts Tuesday, January 17, 2023)
• The specifics of bills include measures affecting students in schools, possibly conversion therapy, restricting the rights of transgender minors in their healthcare needs, and more.
• How mental health and other healthcare professionals' expertise are needed in advocacy work to fight against these dangerous proposals.
