Title: Medical Considerations Related to Transgender Health

Presenter: Colleen Kuhn PhD, moderator (they/them/theirs)

Description:  A panel of medical professionals who provide care for our transgender community, Drs. Matt Bryan, MD (medical provider), Nick Kim, MD (surgeon), and Ejay Jack (LGBTQ health and gender care program manager) will share an overview of current medical processes for transgender clients.  Topics will include information on hormone blockers and hormones, chest and genital reconstruction, nutritional health, and best practices for collaboration with mental health providers. There will be a question and answer portion.

Learning Objectives: Based on this presentation I …

  1.  …will gain an understanding of the differences between hormone blockers and hormones.
  2.  …will gain knowledge around the WPATH Standards of Care (SOC8) and the Endocrine Treatment of Gender Dysphoric / Gender Incongruent Persons, specifically related to chest and genital reconstruction.
  3.  …will gain familiarity of the working relationship between medical and mental health professionals in transgender health care.

CEU’s have been applied for all in‐service programs through Rocky Mountain University and the Utah Psychological Association.

CEUs are free for Guild members & $5 for non‐members, per meeting. If you do not want a CEU certificate, attendance is free to the public but still require that you register.
