    ORIGINAL DATE 3/18/17
I attended the Workforce Service meeting on Tuesday. I do feel like this is something UMHCA should be represented in the future, it is quite a lot of information, extremely new on my part but I believe our board should be a part of and aware of these meetings.

That being said, we finished the approval process as far as the facilities are concerned but  they sent me home with about 13 applicants to rate by the 28th of March.

I have not yet looked at them as the rest of the week I was overbooked. I am not sure yet if I will be able to complete them on my own, I plan on looking at them sometimes this weekend and can let you know. Did you want to do them? If not and if I get stuck would you be available for questions? I found I needed clarification on the first provider application and received it during the board meeting. I think we just had enough people to make a quorum so I'm sure my needs to be done to allow the process to be completed. If you would let me know your availability in case I need direction or if you would like to complete the rating forms please let me know.

Also they voted you in for another 2 years, I wasn't sure as to your plans but they said we could sit in as proxy if necessary. They only received $300k this year due to only using half last year so the have a total of $650k. They also voted for the period of time for moneys to be devoted to the new application to be 4 years.

Thank you for the opportunity and I will be submitting a full written report as to my recommendations on this position.

Thank you so much for attending the meeting and representing the association.

I have never really been a part of this committee and only attended one meeting. Unfortunately, I was assigned to this committee without my prior knowledge by a prior UMHCA President. In addition, this coming week I will have to go through a medical procedure and recovery. To be honest, there is very little that I really understand about the process. Like everybody else, I have so much on my plate right now that serving on another committee is just not feasible.

Hopefully, we can bring this up in the next UMHCA board meeting so that UMHCA members are represented. Let me know what your thoughts are. I don't want this just dumped on you. Thanks again for all your doing.

    Hi, Robin,

Thanks so much for your understanding. My stand in for the last meeting was Julie Jardine Tucker. I have talked with her and the president of the Utah Mental Health Counselors Association about accepting this opportunity. She has accepted. I know she will continue to exceptionally represent the profession of Clinical Mental Health Counseling here in Utah. Best wishes for the work your committee is doing.

I recommend to the Board we become part of this Board again so UMHCA can cast a vote as to who receives this money from the Legislature every year. In order to do that we will now need to contact Robin Williams ( and ask that we be offered a voting right on this committee. This issue has been tabled since 3/17/2018.

Utah Mental Health Counselors Association is Utah's hub for enhancing the profession of mental health counselors.
UMHCA is a 501(c)6 organization.
