Course Objectives 

Developing trauma awareness as a counselor: characteristics of a trauma informed counselor. 

Description of trauma: what happens in the brain and body when potential trauma memory is formed. 

The aftermath of trauma: how trauma symptoms manifest physically, emotionally, and cognitively. 

Interventions and suggestions of more complex therapies that require training.
