Summary

Learn mindfulness from someone who has been teaching mindfulness for nearly 30 years.

This unique workshop is for individuals who are already trained in mindfulness or for those who are new to it. Instruct your clients with unique practices and perspectives of mindfulness. Deepen and expand your current understanding of mindfulness and Present Moment Awareness with concepts and approaches not typically taught. Using these unique mindfulness-based approaches, instruct your clients on how to implement various life-changing exercises to address the symptoms of stress, anxiety, and depression.

Interventions you can use immediately in your practice. Externally-based exercises include: breathing techniques, self-compassion, and positive self-talk, relaxation exercises, simple eye exercises, self-forgiveness, Heartfelt Invocations (similar to affirmations, but more effective) and a detailed outline/program for self-care suggestions.  For example: you will be able to identify specific negative mental and emotional habits (not typically taught) involving resistance that the client may be using to exacerbate their symptoms of stress, anxiety, or depression. Internally-based exercises include: how to release resistance in the body which exacerbates one’s stress, anxiety, and depression; as a therapist, learning to focus within Present Moment Awareness to enhancing your ability to be totally present to your client; using Focus as a tool, and enhancing one’s ability to be the Observer in challenging situations.

This program is designed to provide you with the necessary theory, practical demonstrations and experiential exercises to assist you in integrating the material for client instruction. Also, the workshop manual provides detailed descriptions for most of the content and exercises being taught, minimizing the need to take notes and maximize your learning time.

The following quotes illustrate some of the uniqueness and power of the content of this program:
"I seriously thought of contacting the Licensing Social Work Board to tell them that your workshop was one of the best I have ever attended. You provided such concrete information that will be useful to our clients and taught us in an experiential way that greatly helped us to feel and understand how to make these strategies work. These strategies will also benefit our own personal growth work. In our profession, we should grow psychologically! To go to a workshop that is so warmly and intelligently presented was fabulous.” From an LISW-S

“David, your workshop was so very powerful. The tools you taught us will have far-reaching benefits as we pass them along to our clients as well as benefit ourselves. “

“This workshop provided more experiential exercises than any other that I have attended over the past 40 years. David Fiala presented in a committed, caring & humorous manner. He not only demonstrated a deep, sincere understanding of the material but also clearly explained skills in such a way that one could easily apply them to their professional life or professional practice. I left the workshop rejuvenated and a stronger belief & confidence in the benefits of Mindfulness as well as letting go. I strongly recommend it!”  Sue Livingston, LISW-S

Another LISW said, “After a three-day workshop with Deepak Chopra on meditation and other theories, your explanation made (mindfulness) meditation seem applicable to my life which up until now has not been the case.  Very happy indeed.”

A counselor said, “It was a very meaningful workshop.  I really don’t want to use the word work because it wasn’t like work!!  More of an experience.”

“I've been doing my breathing throughout the day.  Very helpful. Can’t wait for part 2.”
