Mental Health Crisis Response and Skills for Individual Crises and Community Crisis Events

Objectives: (1) Identify common responses individuals and groups experience during a crisis (personal & community). (2) Identify when additional care or referral is needed. (3) Understand how to apply basic crisis response knowledge and skills with an individual or a group.

    Presenter Bio:
    Dr. Kristin Erskine has over 20 years of experience in substance abuse and trauma treatment and has taught counseling in higher education for 15 years. Her specialties include addictions, ethics, mindfulness and meditation, and spirituality in counseling. She is a clinical mental health counselor, a national certified counselor, a master addictions counselor, and a substance abuse professional. In private practice, Dr. Erskine provides substance abuse assessments for commercial truck drivers, pilots, and railroad employees, as well as psychological first aid for employee assistance programs in Utah.
